Resadesign_letter

It is after all all about the kids. They want everything for themselves so why not indulge?

Resa design has a super cute way of coupling modern fabrics with a vintage twist. Appliquéd lettering, shapes, or numbers on whiter than white tees for your tot are as fresh as their baby bottom. Celebrate a birthday with a numbered tee  or bring out their personality with the first letter of their name on a keepsake shirt. Does your little cutie love turtles or birds? Stars or hearts? They are in luck. Oh luck- maybe they should do a clover?

No matter what Resa dreams up it is sewn with perfection and her custom pieces are the proof. Checkout other items like clothing, burp cloths, changing pads, and great "mom tips" scattered about the site.

Delicious little hippos and owls

Bdelicious

Well I just can't get over the cuteness. Who knew that Ultrasuede could look so good? Now we know where the material went after the clothing trend of Ultrasuede went out years ago (thank goodness). It looks so much better cut up into small pieces and made into hippos and donuts and such!

b.delicious is a great collection of accessories and clothing for small people. With tiny scissors (I imagine) and a nimble artistic hand, Jennifer Talbot creates whimsical beings, and on clothing she applique's unique designs some of which help to bring out the personality in your little "King Pin" or "Chatter Box".

Talbot suggests using these owls as bookends in your child's room which is just genius, and she also has a feeling that hippos are going to be BIG this year. Applique can be seen in many designer's collections but this 3-D use of Ultrasuede is something that only a true artist can achieve.

Kice Kice is Nice Nice

Kicekiceclothing

Twin sisters with a passion for design and for filling the void in modern children's wear put their heads and hands together and came up with Kice Kice. I love it. What a breath of fresh air and a celebration of childhood!

The Spring 2008 line is a collection of hand appliqued tops and bottoms all made of 100% organic cotton. The perfect playwear for your dancing, whirling, fashion concious child. Sizing ranges from 3-6 mos to 6 years (thank goodness!). Washing and drying will result in a slight curling of the hand applique's which is a characteristic of the garments. A clean, modern look to compliment the upcoming Spring season.

Snuggle Bug Baby Company

Snugglebug400x400

A good blanket. It can mean the difference between sleeping baby and not so sleeping baby. It can bring comforts of home with you on a road trip, and add instant style to the nursery.

Snuggle Bug Baby Company designs blankets with the entire families needs in mind. Like they say on their homepage, their blankets are high quality with super soft fabrics, and they give you the choice of any of their simple designs to fit your lifestyle. They make less than 100 blankets in each design to insure that your baby has the most unique blankie on the block.

Measuring in at 35"x37", each blanket has 100% cotton designer fabric on one side and white ultra-soft marshmallow fabric on the other. Yes, Marshmallow. That being said- if you think you are in love with one of them you better scoop it up. They are selling out like hotcakes.

We like the blankets, the designs, the websites unique way of showing you all of your choices, and most of all we love Snuggle Bug for giving every 9th blankie made to charity.  They call this the Magical 9th Blankie and we couldn't agree more.

What is your favorite design? Match it with your baby's personality. I think I have a "Clara" (ruby) and a "Tula" (elkë) on my hands!

Tattoo Tot

Tattoosfortots

Finally temporary tattoos that are age-appropriate for toddlers. No more Harley logos or Bad A$$ baby tats. Nope, pure and simple: apples, fish, trees, trucks, dogs, trains and so many more. Just for fun- the occasional pirate or treasure chest is thrown into the mix. Ahoy wee tattooed mateys!

I love this idea for so many reasons. The first thing that comes to mind is a nice reward system that doesn't involve rotting their little teeth. When you buy the pack of Tattoos for Tots you have 2 sheets filled with good behavior/potty training treats- or just a fun reason to put on a tattoo.

The tattoos go on easy and come off just as easy. They make it though hand washing and a bath but are simply removed for good with a swipe of baby oil or rubbing alcohol. The cute graphic designs and matching word help children start to identify letter sounds and associate pictures with words. What else can you expect from a mom team of a graphic designer and teacher?

Boogie Be Gone

Boogiewipes

I could not have discovered this product on a better day. There I was with two sick and snorty kids ages 3 and 6 months, in the car on the way to the doctor. Having just stopped to pick up the daily stroll product submissions mail when low and behold Boogie Wipes was there to save the day. I just happened to open the box in the car to discover the packets of Boogie Wipes and immediately pulled over to wipe down the children in desperate need of relief from their boogie faces. Especially the 6 month old who has yet to master the sleeve wipe and also can't ask for a tissue.

Guess what? It was love. They work, they smell great, they are very gentle, and for once Ruby (3) didn't scream when I tried to clean her mug (which is super cute but often dirty). I even credit them with helping to clear up the colds in a jiffy since I was able to wipe away the germ filled mucous offenders.

Boogie Wipes was started by 2 moms who have chased their fair share of boogies. They wanted to come up with a gentle and effective way to help the rest of us mommies who resort to grabbing anything in our path to attack little noses with. Sometimes what we grab, even a plain tissue can damage baby skin, and a baby wipe is for butts not boogies. Each Boogie Wipe has a soothing and moisturizing combination of ingredients, contains no alcohol and has extra saline since as we know saline is best for dealing with those pesky sticky boogers.

Well I think I officially used the word Booger more than I should have so I will leave you to discover the magic on your own. Check the website for locations near you or to get your own delivered right to your door.

Spring Has Sprung

Babybeanspring08_2

Bodenspring08
Well maybe spring hasn't sprung for you but it has for these designers. They are always ahead of the game (because they have to be). I am sure that you are aching for spring though and April showers may bring May flowers- but January freezing cold brings a longing for green grass, buds on trees, and swingy spring dresses for me.

So far my top picks for spring fashion come from BodenUSA and Baby Bean Vintage Daywear. Boden appeals to my dollar conscious, quality seeking self, while Baby Bean appeals to my love of vintage fabrics, impeccable craftswoman-ship, and giving the girls something so very special in the form of a one-of-a-kind dress.

They are yours for the salivating and if you are lucky enough to have sunshine (and warmth) all year 'round where you live, or if you are jetting to the islands for winter break, pack some Boden or some Baby Bean. You are welcome.

Now this is the kind of memory game you don't mind scattered all over your family room floor.

In their signature modern style, BINTH incorporates an eco-friendly approach into their designs, all the while keeping an eco-friendly goods and little hands in mind. The entire set is made from recycled materials and each card is laminated for protection and has rounded corners. Oh Please Just Have Crayons

Dinendoodle

Do you find yourself thinking first not about what the restaurant that you and your family are about to embark upon serves and if the kids will like it, but if they have crayons to keep them busy? I do.

Sure crayons can only go so far but if you aren't hitting one of the chain family restaurants you may be in trouble from the start. The local golf club or sushi restaurant may not have anything for the kids to do, after all it's not really their responsibility. However you are sick of eating the chicken finger platter and if you see one more vinyl booth or balloon wielding clown it will be too soon.

Dine out wherever you want and rest assured that the kids will keep their cool for at least long enough for you to get their order in quickly- as long as you carry along DINE-n-DOODLE. This neat little roll of crayons is handmade, of superb quality, fits right into your handbag and will provide the saving grace you need. You may even have time to get your drink order in just to take the edge off.

For moms like me who have crayons marking up the lining of their favorite  handbag, this is your answer. 8 crayons are included, holds 16 regular size crayons- so you are 1/2 way there.
