Puppy Love

In the Spring 2008 collection at Mairzey Dotes there is a certain blanket that I am loving. Dogs scattered about a crisp baby blue cotton with a reversible coordinating pattern of pajama stripes. Lined with love and cotton on the inside, and 100% cotton all around. Big enough for a tummy time play mat but not too big for your little one to drag about the house. With a preschooler and an infant in the house we are using "D is for Dog" from Mairzey Dotes a lot. Baby E loves to have her tummy time and look at the doggy friends while Ruby insists on counting them all.

Orange Peel Baby

This is the blanket that everyone who comes to our house and holds Elkë in it says "oooh I love this blanket". I think the part that gets them since they can't keep their hands off of it is the minkee dot backside, but then it is  a toss up as the other side is always a hip fabric chosen by designer Abby Olson owner of Orange Peel Baby.

Orange Peel Baby has unique blankets with all of the colors we love these days, burps and bibs to match. Up All Night

Ruby (3) stays up late. Despite the fact that she goes into her room with jammies, bathed, teeth brushed, multiple stories read by 7:30pm, she is AWAKE sometimes until 10.

She is quiet, stealth even. We can't even go up and check on her because that leads to more stories, more drinks of water and more drama. I figure that if she is going to stay up that late she might as well learn something. This is why I like the Alphabet/Orange dot quilt from Quilt Baby. The dotted side appeals to my design sense, while the letters have a nice educational twist. Plus it just makes me want to curl up and sleep away the day.

That's MY Blanket

There is no mistaking whose is whose when the kids name is sprawled across a big lovey blanket. This is the case with RUBY.
