Delicious little hippos and owls

Bdelicious

Well I just can't get over the cuteness. Who knew that Ultrasuede could look so good? Now we know where the material went after the clothing trend of Ultrasuede went out years ago (thank goodness). It looks so much better cut up into small pieces and made into hippos and donuts and such!

b.delicious is a great collection of accessories and clothing for small people. With tiny scissors (I imagine) and a nimble artistic hand, Jennifer Talbot creates whimsical beings, and on clothing she applique's unique designs some of which help to bring out the personality in your little "King Pin" or "Chatter Box".

Talbot suggests using these owls as bookends in your child's room which is just genius, and she also has a feeling that hippos are going to be BIG this year. Applique can be seen in many designer's collections but this 3-D use of Ultrasuede is something that only a true artist can achieve.

Does Your Baby Have A Case Of BAD ASS?

Babb

It happens. Bad Ass. Some kids get it, some kids don't, and whether yours is a Bad Ass Baby all of the time or just on occasion it is nice to be prepared. Be prepared in a healthy, paraben free, safe way that is.

The founders of this cute little company which insures that you have every sort of ointment you could need for those unmentionable baby and women parts has a great marketing technique, and the dedication that most designers and new biz owners don't realize they need. When the sample arrived it was delivered in the cutest way (not going to give away any secrets here) and made the publicist in me giddy. The website is delightfully funny and contains some very interesting facts along the way. This comes as no surprise from this self proclaimed "mom + pop" operation. Mom is well, a mom so an expert on those hurting unmentionable women parts, and an art consultant as well as a previous small business owner. Pop is a collaborative artist and website programmer. I smell success people. Bigtime.

Immediate application to baby "e"'s own Bad Ass was a success (she recently started 1st stage table foods and -YIKES). The company is going to be a hit, the products most importantly are going to bring a lot of relief to some tender breasts, bad asses, raging roids, and upset va-j-j's.

You're Invited

Marmalade_ink_3x2_girl_drum
Marmalade_ink_rock_2x2

The truth is that your kid may not care what his or her birthday party invite looks like (but we know that you do). At a certain age though these things start to become important to our kid's, just around the time they want their hair brushed or care if their clothes are clean. With all of the options these days, pretty much any birthday bash theme or idea can come to fruition with the click of the mouse.

At Marmalade Ink they have just rolled out a new line of rockin' invites and thank you notes to take your child's birthday party up a notch. Actually those pink drums may seem familiar to some of you- yes our own Ruby inspired that collection and I couldn't be more proud (neither could her drummer Daddy). Or psyched for when her birthday comes around this year!

Have a little rocker on your hands? A skater? Whatever they like you are sure to find it at the website and while you are at it, why not sit down with them at the computer and let them have some input in their own birthday invites and thank you notes? You never know you may just inspire a budding  designer in that child on your lap.

Kice Kice is Nice Nice

Kicekiceclothing

Twin sisters with a passion for design and for filling the void in modern children's wear put their heads and hands together and came up with Kice Kice. I love it. What a breath of fresh air and a celebration of childhood!

The Spring 2008 line is a collection of hand appliqued tops and bottoms all made of 100% organic cotton. The perfect playwear for your dancing, whirling, fashion concious child. Sizing ranges from 3-6 mos to 6 years (thank goodness!). Washing and drying will result in a slight curling of the hand applique's which is a characteristic of the garments. A clean, modern look to compliment the upcoming Spring season.

Frilly? Really? Is it back? Did it ever leave?

I woke up this morning to two email newsletters from two of the other popular top baby/mom websites on the Internet. Both were featuring items that 1. I would never buy or write about, and 2. that seem to be a bit dated as in the year of the bedazzle.

Maybe it is just me so I thought that a reader poll would be fun! Please enter your answer below to the question- Is "Frilly" Back? By "Frilly" I mean decorating tees for kids with tulle, painting kids canvas shoes, bedazzling pacifiers, baby onesies, applique's on jean skirts. Do you want to see more of this on the Daily Stroll or are you super duper happy with the modern selection of toys, clothing and goods for home that I show? Either way I am probably going to stick to writing about what I would and do actually buy for my kids but it makes an interesting poll. IS FRILLY BACK? You tell me. Did it ever leave? It is possibly  that I am just blissfully ignoring "frilly"? It reminds me of older women pairing tracksuits with high heels and gives me the twitches.

PS. you can vote more than 1 answer for example you can check both, No and thanks for not showing frilly. BUT- you can't view the poll results unless you vote!
